Guwahati, India: Reliance Communications, on April 22, 2011, announced the launch of its 3G services in 24 locations in the Northeast part of India, making them the first operator to do so.

The company today launched 3G services in Guwahati and Shillong (areas of India), which will be followed by 15 locations in Assam and nine in the Northeast next month.

The nine places in the Northeast where 3G services will be launched are Agartala, Kohima, Dimapur, Imphal, Aizawl, Itanagar, Naharlagun and Tura.

Reliance Communications on Wednesday said it has launched mobile banking services for its GSM subscribers in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI).

“Reliance consumers can use facilities like balance enquiry, mini statement, fund transfer, cheque book issuance, mobile recharge and bill payment at any time and place through the use of their cell phones,” the company said in a statement.

Star2Billing has announced that 2010 marks the company’s fifth year anniversary and as a special for customers is offering SIP DID service from DIDX to its customers.

The commercial arm of A2Billing, Star2Billingoffers open source telecom switch and billing platforms.

Officials with the company said that for the offer, DIDX is providing their customers options for SIP DIDs in 1000 Ohio, USA DIDs and/or Auckland, New Zealand DID phone numbers.
