Consumers today can experience new Windows Phone 7.5, formerly code-named “Mango,” with a selection of sleek and stylish smartphones from HTC Corp. and Samsung, starting at just $49.99.

Now available at AT&T, the, Samsung Focus™ S and Samsung Focus Flash are the newest additions to the Windows Phone portfolio, joining the HTC Radar 4G, available at T-Mobile USA Inc.

To demonstrate this approach, Microsoft put real people inside a giant six-story phone in New York City’s Herald Square to bring to life the phone’s key features and experiences.

A life-size “Plants vs. Zombies” battle highlighted the phone’s rich Xbox LIVE gaming experience, while Far East Movement brought the Music + Video Hub to life with a live lunchtime concert for hundreds of fans in.

The theme of the day connecting people was underscored when a New York man proposed to his girlfriend from inside the Me Tile of the giant phone.

“Windows Phone will help change the way people look at smartphones,” said Andy Lees, president of the Windows Phone Division at Microsoft Corp.

“Other phones have you wade through a sea of apps, while we bubble up all the things that are important centered around the people that matter to you most.”

“Windows Phones have a strong fan base among our customers, which has helped us sell more of them than anyone else,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – devices, AT&T Mobility & Consumer Markets.

“These new devices cater perfectly to both personal and professional use and make it easier for our customers to connect and share information with the important people in their lives.

The more intuitive approach to apps, along with the power of Internet Explorer 9 and the ability for users to localize the Web based on where they are, combine to give our customers a compelling and differentiated service experience. We are excited to add them to our growing Windows Phone lineup.”

Windows Phone is available from all major U.S. mobile operators, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless.

In addition, the Windows Phone 7.5 software is available for every Windows Phone customer as a free software update.

A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other Web sites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order. Blogs range from the personal to the political, and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects.

Many blogs focus on a particular topic, such as web design, home staging, sports, or mobile technology. Some are more eclectic, presenting links to all types of other sites. And others are more like personal journals, presenting the author’s daily life and thoughts.

Generally speaking (although there are exceptions), blogs tend to have a few things in common:

A main content area with articles listed chronologically, newest on top. Often, the articles are organized into categories.

An archive of older articles.

A way for people to leave comments about the articles.

A list of links to other related sites, sometimes called a “blogroll”.

One or more “feeds” like RSS, Atom or RDF files.

Some blogs may have additional features beyond these. Watch this short video for a simple explanation for what a blog is.

The Blog Content

Content is the raison d’être for any web site. Retail sites feature a catalog of products. University sites contain information about their campuses, curriculum, and faculty. News sites show the latest news stories.

For a personal blog, you might have a bunch of observations, or reviews. Without some sort of updated content, there is little reason to visit a web site more than once.

Comments

Want an interactive website? Wouldn’t it be nice if the readers of a website could leave comments, tips or impressions about the site or a specific article? With blogs, they can! Posting comments is one of the most exciting features of blogs.

The Difference Between a Blog and CMS ?

Software that provides a method of managing your website is commonly called a CMS or “Content Management System”. Many blogging software programs are considered a specific type of CMS. They provide the features required to create and maintain a blog, and can make publishing on the internet as simple as writing an article, giving it a title, and organizing it under (one or more) categories.

Rani Wemel spoke to Chris Jenkins, Executive Vice President & Managing Director,Asia Pacific, David Khoo, Vice President, Technology and Stuart Wall, Stuart Wall,Executive Vice President & Managing Director, Asia Pacific.Text messaging in Asia continues to be the most prevalent form of mobile communications today with SMS being favored by nearly 85 percent of all mobile phone users in the region. However, the rising popularity of platforms for consumers such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber and IMPlus Talk has seen mobile operators struggling to cope with the influx of mobile data generated despite the host of new revenue opportunities opened up by the shift in subscriber preference.

With mobile data revenues in Asia Pacific expected to almost double by the end of 2015 (Frost and Sullivan), perators need to evolve messaging services and leverage unique messaging characteristics in line with ample choice offered to the modern consumer.

As a leader for mobile data and messaging services in Asia, Acision’s Mobile Data Services strategy is focused on providing a wide range of innovative messaging services, while maximizing the profitability of existing messaging systems, and – at the same time – supporting operators to be successful in the evolution to all-IP networks, said Chris Jenkins, Executive Vice President & Managing Director, Asia Pacific. This has been designed to facilitate a new wave of services enabling mobile operators to extend their business models and generate new revenue streams, he added.

We’re experiencing a shift in the communications paradigm, where communication services have move to an IP-based environment. Operators can drive new evenues with innovative services while controlling, optimizing and monetizing data traffic by exploiting the assets at their disposal and combining real-time charging, policy management, data enforcement and intelligent optimization to deliver the differentiated offers and personal quality of experience that consumers want.

Mobile broadband is seen as an important and valuable service by the majority ofusers. A significant amount of consumers are still dissatisfied with certain aspects of the service ranging from slow speeds, network coverage, connection stability and unable to connect.

Acision’s proven products and services, experienced people and service innovation allows organizations to meet the challenges in today’s converging telecommunications market.

The Acision research shows that 71% of consumers use mobile regularly throughout the week and are simply asking operators to further develop the mobile broadband service from where it is today with 63% of global consumers willing to pay for mobile broadband VAS. Another great area of opportunity is Quality of Experience. There are of course issues to solve here, but to improve Quality of Experience, 67% of consumer’s support the application of fairness principles and another 60% would like video optimization to be applied. These are key capabilities that operators can apply to compete at an entirely new level; Quality of Experience.

The Network needs to deliver the maximum experience to the consumer at the lowest optimal cost, and having created this environment, the operator then needs to provide targeted propositions to customers. Operators should give consumers more control over their services and the control of them, which will lead to greater loyalty and usage. There’s a demand appearing from regional operators to globalize their propositions, as they look to grow and extend their reach.

Recently Acision’s innovative solutions won 2 awards at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2011. The 2 award winning innovative solutions were the “Missed SMS Notification Service”, deployed by Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated communications provider which won the SMS Network Innovation Award and the Acision “Charging Engine” deployed by Setar, Aruba’s national telecommunications provider which won the Service Charging Innovation Award.

Is it a threat to everything that we know as personal data protection, or the optimal way of keeping track in a chaos of products?

Imagine a world in which everything that you own is numbered and catalogued. All your shoes; every piece of clothing. A world in which nothing can be regarded as private, but where everything can be traced back to you.

Take a step further in your thinking and you have a universe in which every movement is also registered. How many times did you visit the off-licence last month, and how many litres of milk did you buy last Saturday?

This situation is not far off, if we can believe Kathrine Albrecht, one of the USA’s leading experts on personal data protection. She is among those who regard with suspicion the potential applications of identifying individuals with the aid of the new technology known asRfid – Radio Frequency IDentification. One American company has already developed a chip that can be implanted in your arm. This could allocate each of us a unique ID number linked to information in a central database. Quite impermissible, according to Albrecht.

However, such critical voices are few and far between. Most people are likely to think that RFID is primarily an identification technology that is tailor-made for industries that depend on supplies of services, flows of materials, stocks of goods, manufacturing and reliability of supply. And that the potential for improved efficiency and Security is unimaginable.

Let us take a look at what the technology is all about. For the sake of simplicity we can start with the bar-code that we all know from everyday shopping; the code that is scanned and turns into an amount when we get to check-out.

RFID technology is similar, but it goes further. The bar-code is replaced by a readable numerical code and is loaded into a radio chip. The code can be made as long as we wish, and can thus hold as much information as is needed. If there is a reader within range that can receive the radio signal, the unique ID will be read. One more thing: the chip can be placed inside a product so that it is invisible to the naked eye; and you can add on a couple of sensors that offer extra functions.

This technology is already in use – in key-cards, highway toll chips, tracing packages during transport – and exposing shop-lifters. What is new is the prediction that RFID is about to conquer the world. It will sweep over us like a whirlwind and leave us slightly confused in a landscape quite different from what we are used to.

For those with the money, they are able to invest in the best piece they can get from the market while those who just have the minute budget will have to make do with the lower quality one. However, there are ways to get the headphones that suit our preferences with affordable price tag if we know how to look for it.

First is the budget, of course. You should be willing to spend a little bit more if you wish to have the best model. Headphones are just like speakers, only way smaller. Better quality headphones may cause more, but it also might lasts longer from the ones that you can find at the flea market. However, you can still get good quality secondhand headphones from night markets. A good haggling technique may safe you some money too.

If all you need is a simple headphones just to avoid all the mess caused by speakers, then look for headphones that is wireless such as Bluetooth headphones. With this, you will not need all that wires spiraling around your neck and body. Then, you will have that clean, sleek and sophisticated look wherever you go. Wireless headphones are also good to avoid irritating your friends and families with the loud noise without making the room cluttered with unnecessary wires. In addition, wireless headphones are easier to store since they require less room and space.

Headphones is not only style statement, they also serve some functions. For example, try to imagine people carrying their computer speaker together with them at the restaurants or diners? Would not that be disturbing other people and also discomfort to that person itself? Hence, headphones make it less hard for these people, especially those who travel a lot.

Clean the tip of the jack before plugging it into the slot of your computers or laptops. Dirty tips will cause a delay or a failure of detecting your headphones by the computer or laptop. Use moistened cotton swab to clean the tip and also the inside of the slot. Remember, use moistened cotton swab, not wet cotton swab. You do not want to damage your slot.

Then, avoid your headphones from falling as much as possible. Any impacts on the headphones may cause the smaller components to become loose and after a certain period of time, your headphone may loose its sound quality at all. This is the aspect that you should take care of the most because you may need to get yourself a new set if the one you are having is broken. Repairing it will cost you as much as getting a new one.

However, no matter how much you prefer to put those headphones on your ears, do remember not to turn on the volume to the loudest. A sudden change in the volume may cause temporary hearing inadequacy after a pro-longed use. What you should do is to turn the volume to the lowest before wearing the headphones. Only then should you increase the volume slowly according to your preferred loudness. It is good to put the volume where you can hear all the details without feeling you are being stabbed by the noise.

Choosing the right headphones will not only give you the coveted clarity and crisp acoustic quality, it will also help to entertain you without compromising your comfort. Since headphones are used on your ears, then, it is important for you to be able to spend more in order not to affect your hearing loss. Use them moderately and accordingly.

Hearing loss can affect a person’s life and wearing a hearing aid can help. They work simply and effectively and are available in different styles. Improving the ability to hear can greatly improve how a person lives their life. They are easy to wear and care for and provide lasting benefits to those who use them.

These small devices are designed to pick up sounds and amplify them for a hearing impaired person. They have a microphone that collects sounds. An amplifier and receiver increase the volume of the sound, and a battery powers the device. The conventional type of aid increases the volume of all sound in the environment. Analog and digital models can be programmed to a specific user’s needs.

Different people have different preferences for the style and fit of this equipment. Manufacturers make distinct aids to suit these needs. Behind-the-ear aids are larger than other models and easier to fit, remove and access. In-the-ear and in-the-canal models are smaller and less visible. While completely-in-the-canal models cannot be seen except by very close inspection.

Do your neighbors complain about the volume of your television or stereo? Does your spouse or child ask you to stop shouting at them? Losing your hearing is usually a very gradual process. You may not even be aware of how much your hearing has declined. When hearing loss reaches a level that causes you to annoy other people there is a problem. Getting an aid to increase your hearing will improve your relationship with family, friends and neighbors.

Hearing loss is not a visible impairment. Unless people are told a person suffers from hearing loss they will not know. Constant requests to repeat what has been said are often interpreted as a lack of understanding. Hearing impaired people are sometimes treated as if they are less intelligent and this impacts their self-esteem.

In many countries not giving way to an emergency vehicle, like a police car, can result in a heavy fine. It is also dangerous for the driver, their passengers and everyone else on the road. Using a hearing device is a simple and effective way to protect yourself and everyone else.

The sensation of wearing an aid either in or behind the ear can initially be unfamiliar. However, the wearer will become accustomed to it very quickly. It will soon be no different to wearing sunglasses or a watch. The return of familiar sounds is often a pleasant surprise.

In order to receive the full benefits there are some small maintenance tasks required. They should be removed every night, cleaned according to the manufacturer’s instructions and stored in a solid case to protect them. Batteries need to be checked regularly. Like any sensitive piece of equipment they should not be allowed to get wet and should be handled gently.

Wearing a hearing aid can make a vast difference for a person that has hearing impairment. Interactions with people in person and on the telephone involve less frustration. Warning signals and alarms can be heeded. Life generally becomes more pleasant for the wearer and those around them.

Clark Lane writes about the best hearing aid and analog hearing aids in his blog. He has reviews for Siemens hearing aids, GHI hearing aids, Nexear hearing aids and more.

Mention “binoculars” and we first think of peeping toms or watching your favorite sport live at the track or field …

Back at the beginning of the seventeenth century when Galileo invented the telescope, two were put side by side and the modern day binoculars were invented. The Galilean design is still used today for the less expensive versions and has some limitations in terms of its magnification capabilities.

A better design which can produce improved images at a higher magnification uses Keplerian optics. This was an improvement on the Galilean design and came from the Keplerian Telescope that was invented in 1611 by Johannes Kepler. This method has one problem, the image you see is inverted but there are ways to get around this.

An Italian politician named Ignazio Porro came up with a double Z design called and called it the Porro Prism. It was patented in 1852 but was improved toward the end of the century by manufacturer Carl Zeiss. Carl Zeiss has achieved great success and are still around after all these years and are still very successful.

At the time most units being made were used for visits to the opera and so were mainly fixed magnification items. This was not always to be the case as they gained popularity with from other fields such as the military. Traditionally they had magnification adjusters on both eyepieces. Unfortunately this process was quite slow which was ok if you were looking at something that was static and have time to adjust them.

Their use was becoming more and more widespread especially for use in the field by the military. To make them more practical for use in the field they were fitted with a central focusing adjuster. With one movement both tubes could be focused at the same time resulting in much quicker vision of far off subjects. Once the individual tubes had been adjusted to meet the strength of each eye then the whole unit could be altered by turning one wheel. In terms of practical military use this meant that a massive increase in the advantage gained by their use.

Another method of changing the magnification is the zoom lens although these tend to be used in cameras. This uses a number of lenses that can be adjusted by the use of a zoom lever. The design is less practical as it is quite fragile. The zoom lens is also linked with eyestrain and fatigue of the eyes.

Today, binoculars are often used by amateur astronomers and are good for spotting events like comets and other astrological events. They have a far greater range these days but those that are greater in size than 70mm are better for terrestrial viewing and it’s really when you go over the 90mm that astronomical users tend to utilize them.

At the moment the designs that are in use are very similar to what was first thought about all those years. It certainly is a situation that we don’t often see in today’s age of technological advances. In almost every other field the way in which things have been done have changed beyond all recognition. The ideas of Galileo and Kepler have lasted throughout the centuries and they don’t look like they are going anywhere for a long time to come.

Mike Davis has a best binoculars review blog. He reviews many binoculars and categorizes them for easy reading like best small binocular, best lightweight binocular, best binocular for hiking and so on.

Does anyone remember the Logitech QuickCall USB Speakerphone back in 2007: Though it looked like a pair of binoculars, there’s no doubt that this gadget was a VoIP speakerphone. The shape was apparently not for kicks, but served a larger purpose – to remove the echo that’s a common complaint with VoIP calls. Apparently this was done using Logitech’s RightSound Technology. It used two microphones – one on each side of the phone – to capture sound from a larger area.

If you are a person that enjoys music, then most likely you own a pair of headphones. Let’s be honest, carrying around a hi-fi surround system just isn’t practical and what else could be better than a headphone. Not to mention with today’s technology, the headphone can project high quality audio as well.

Headphones range from many shapes and sizes. Each headphone is able to deliver high quality audio despite its size. To cut things short, headphones are two small speakers placed over your ears and connected to an audio source. Don’t be fooled by its simple design, the headphone is able to enhance a listener’s audio experience significantly.

Apart from its amazing audio results, the headphones are also good for its portability. The headphone can be packed into any small case or in some cases, just placed into your back pocket for use anytime. Thanks to its small size, audiophiles can now enjoy good quality music anywhere and anytime without having to go home to their own audio room.

In fact, not only audiophiles are the ones benefiting from the headphones. People who like playing games are also choosing to wear headphones now. The reason? Headphones now have a 3D positional audio processing algorithm that further improves the gaming experience. These headphones are able to create sounds in a 360 degrees environment. For example, a gamer wearing the headphones can now hear another player’s footsteps approaching from any direction.

Apart from entertainment, headphones are also used as communication tools. Some headphones come with microphones known as headsets are widely used by customer service personnel’s. This lets the user able to make calls to other users who also have headsets.

However, headphones do have its bad points as well. For instance, wearing headphones for a long period of time might cause damage to your ears. Especially if you are the type that likes to blast your headphones to a high volume level or you happen to be one of those hard metal rock avid listeners.

In some serious cases, it can cause hearing impairment and even deafness. This situations happens when you least expect and every headphone user has encountered it at least once before. It usually happens in a place where the background noise is excessively loud such in a subway station. Most headphones come with the ability to filter outside noise in order for you to enjoy your preferred music. However, sometimes the background noise can be so loud that the filter is rendered useless. This is when “masking” takes place. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out a solution and that would be to increase the volume level of the audio source and sometimes to a very high and dangerous level without even knowing it.

That is why it’s always important to check out what is your most ideal volume level when you first get your headphones. You can try by using your headphones in a quiet environment and see what the perfect volume level is. For example, if the volume level of 15 is the limit in a quiet environment, then you’d know that you are hearing at a damaging level in a loud environment when your volume level is at 25.

Ed Parker owns a best headphones blog. He recommends and writes various brands of headphones reviews he has tested such as Beyerdynamic headphones reviews, Bose headphones reviews, Denon headphones reviews, Audio Technica headphones reviews and more in his blog.
