Google TVGoogle TV Ads™ advertising program has been defined as a nascent ad-brokering business. Youtube, on its content side, has completed a variety of syndication with television manufacturers and console companies already. Google TV Ads™ advertising program has been testing a new television programming search service in conjunction with Dish Network, according to The Wall Street Journal. The move is a plus for embedded systems and device businesses not only because of the new choice but also because typically Google frameworks are free and full of flexibility.

On Super Bowl Sunday 2010, Google ran an ad for its search engine on television, a 60 second spot of “Parisian Love.” This action was different from the Google standard in which it normally does not advertise itself. Think Android is advertised by Verizon or T-Mobile…

Lexus VP marketing David Nordstrom shared with Marketing Daily his opinion of the Google TV Ads™ advertising program. This is in relation to Lexus’ running of ads for its four hybrid models: the RX 400h, GS 450h, LS 600h and HS 250h.

“Q: What are the benefits of the Google TV Ads™ advertising program?

A: Google TV Ads™ advertising program is 10 times more efficient than network TV, and we like the targetability that it provides in reaching our consumers. [It] offers very specific targeted demographic and psychographic data and can also target programming with established online Google keyword lists. Working with Google TV Ads™ advertising program makes the media-buying process much more streamlined. There is no third-party buying agency/ department needed for negotiating, and inventory is awarded to the highest bidder. Google TV is just one of the many media programs in our overall strategy.”

… Consumers and businesses consume content on a variety of platforms such as netbook, cell phone, Kindle, laptop, mp3 players, game stations, and still the ever popular living room or main reception room television screen.

So, how will this work? Google TV Ads™ advertising program will run on TV set-top boxes containing Google software. It will enable users to search shows on satellite-TV services and also on web sites like Google’s YouTube.

Merging Internet programming has been tried before with little success. Why? It required individual and organization consumers to buy extra hardware. Google is working directly with Dish and its hardware.
