Google has announced with Unicef $50,000 award for drawing your local area on the Google map maker.

Google Map Maker or http://mapmaker.google.com allows you to create your own local neighborhood that has not yet been mapped by any one, on the map. This way people can search locations and roads on your local area maps.

You can even get driving directions via the Google Map Maker.
