Review: In Search of Best Podcasting Headphones, Logitech ClearChat Premium PC
Dec 15th, 2009 | By omar shaikh | Category: PodcastsAlthough apparently designed for those whose main goal is to reduce noise in audio recordings, Logitech’s ClearChat Premium PC headset is also extremely easy to use. Listening to movies and music and playing games is a great experience, too.
It is simple to install. it is easy to rotate the mic up and store. It is sturdy, great for people me who drop items a lot because of being in a hurry. It has a volume wheel on the clothing clip. It is comfortable even for those with big heads like me. It is adjustable without sacrificing its sturdiness.
The levels of pure audio fidelity that are produced by its open-back phone are premium while still doing a great job on noise cancellation. I was desparate for this, plus matched volume and correct volume.
Everyone I talk to today on Skype, GoogleTalk, and other softphones since I purchased this set yesterday, declare they think I am in the same room at them, so clear.
Ways it could be improved:
1. There is no electronic voice filtering mechanism in it.
2. It is not for long time usage because the ear pads become too warm. Take them off once in a while if you don’t want “your ears to burn.” (No one is talking about you.)
3. I still have not found an eyeglass-friendly headset with mic with all the features I need.
Overall its sturdiness, noise cancellation, and clarity of voice and most recording make it a must-have as of Dec. 15, 2009.
There are cheaper headsets and mics, but you cannot lower expectations for quality when your business partner, clients, vendors, industry friends, and potentials may be listening.
